umati — OPC UA for Machine Tools (OPC 40501-1)
umati is the VDW and VDMA initiative behind OPC UA companion specifications for machinery; for machine tools it is OPC 40501-1 "Machine Tools – Monitoring and Job Management", built on OPC 40001-1 Machinery. A client reads the NamespaceArray to find the index of http://opcfoundation.org/UA/MachineTool/ and browses MachineToolType instances under Objects > Machines: Identification, Monitoring (operation mode, stack light), Production (active program and its state), Equipment (tools) and Notification. VDW lists Siemens, HEIDENHAIN, FANUC, Beckhoff, Bosch Rexroth, B&R and Mitsubishi Electric as supporting control suppliers. A public test server runs at opc.tcp://opcua.umati.app:4840.
