OPC UA in MATLAB / LabVIEW
Both MATLAB and LabVIEW offer first-party OPC UA client add-ons. They matter because a lot of test-bench and R&D work lives in these environments, and pulling machine data into an existing analysis workflow beats rebuilding the workflow elsewhere.

What to know before you start
- Client-side only in practice: treat them as a way to read and subscribe, not to expose a server.
- Licensing is per-seat and per-toolbox, and the OPC UA capability is usually a separate purchase from the base product.
- Security policy support has historically lagged the open stacks. If you need SignAndEncrypt with a modern policy, verify it before committing.
Recipes for this stack are not published yet. The twelve-task recipe matrix currently covers Python, Node.js, C#/.NET and C. The concepts are identical across stacks: start from the Python recipes and map the calls.
