| Sector | Leak detection systems |
The leak detection system model in the plastics and rubber family. Narrow in scope and useful when you have this equipment, with the family's usual caveat that two published versions exist and they are not interchangeable.
Where it sits in the stack
Built on PlasticsRubber GeneralTypes, alongside the other machine-specific members of the family.
The types that matter
| Type | What it carries |
|---|---|
LeakDetectionSystemType | The leak detection system, with its status and results. |
Using it on a real machine
- Check which version the machine speaksLDS has shipped at 1.00 and 1.02. Read the ModelUri and version from the server.
- Treat results as quality dataA leak test result is a pass or fail on a part, which makes it a quality input rather than a process value.
What it gives you for OEE
Contributes to quality, not availability. Test results map onto pass and fail counts for a quality figure; the machine's own state and counters come from the rest of the family or the Machinery building blocks.
Gotchas
- Two published versions, 1.00 and 1.02. Confirm which one you are talking to.
- A narrow model - do not expect it to describe the whole machine it is attached to.
Once the machine speaks a companion spec, the OEE mapping is portable across vendors, which is the point at which analytics stops being a per-machine project.
