SectorPlastics and rubber machinery

The shared base of the plastics and rubber companion specification family, which is where the Euromap work ended up. If you are integrating an injection moulding machine, extrusion line or associated equipment, this is the layer underneath whatever machine-specific model you actually need.

Where it sits in the stack

It sits under the machine-specific plastics models - injection moulding to MES, extrusion, leak detection, dosing and the rest - providing common types they all reuse. Above it sit those models; below it, the core OPC UA information model.

The types that matter

TypeWhat it carries
MachineTypeThe general machine base used across the family, carrying identification and common status.
MachineIdentificationTypeNameplate identification, aligned in intent with the Machinery identification building block.

Using it on a real machine

  1. Establish which family member the machine implementsGeneralTypes alone is rarely the whole answer. Find out whether the machine also implements IMM2MES, an extrusion model, LDS or another member, because that determines what production data you can get.
  2. Check the version carefullyThis family has more version churn than any other. GeneralTypes has shipped at 1.02 and 1.03, and Extrusion exists as v1 and a separate v2 namespace. Read the ModelUri and version from the server rather than assuming.
  3. Search for the Euromap name tooMachine documentation and older tender specifications still say Euromap 77 or Euromap 83. Those refer to the work that became this family.

What it gives you for OEE

Little directly. GeneralTypes gives you identification and common structure, not counters or state. Your availability and production data come from the machine-specific family member and, where the vendor implements it, the Machinery building blocks.

Try it free: No free public server exposes this model as far as we know. To see it you need a machine that implements it or a vendor demo. If you find a public endpoint, tell us and we will add it.

Gotchas

  • Version churn is the defining problem of this family. GeneralTypes at 1.02 versus 1.03, and Extrusion v1 versus the separate Extrusion_v2 namespace, are real interoperability differences.
  • There is no Euromap nodeset. Euromap 77 and its siblings are still what people search for and still appear in specifications, but the released models live under the PlasticsRubber family.
  • Vendors implement subsets. Browse before promising a data point to a customer.
Verify before you rely on this: Which family members a given machine implements, and at which versions, varies by builder and firmware. Read it from the server. The type inventory on this page is deliberately short. We list only type names we are confident of and would rather publish five correct ones than twelve with four wrong. Browse a real server or the released nodeset for the complete list.
Related models

Once the machine speaks a companion spec, the OEE mapping is portable across vendors, which is the point at which analytics stops being a per-machine project.
