Glass Flat v2
| Version | 2.0.0 |

| Published | 2024-10-01 |
| Namespace | http://opcfoundation.org/UA/Glass/Flat/v2/ |
| Sector | Flat glass |
The flat glass model, second generation, published as its own v2 namespace. Flat glass processing lines are long sequences of cooperating machines, and the model exists so an integrator does not have to learn each station separately.
Where it sits in the stack
Built on the Machinery building blocks and the Device Information Model, following the VDMA machinery pattern.
The types that matter

Using it on a real machine
- Confirm the v2 namespaceThis is Glass/Flat/v2, published separately from the earlier work. Read the ModelUri from the server.
- Map the line, not one machineA glass line is a sequence. Model the stations and their relationship so a stoppage can be attributed to the station that caused it.
- Check the Machinery layerIdentification, item state and operation mode come from the building blocks underneath and are what make your integration portable.
What it gives you for OEE
Availability is workable through the Machinery item state and operation mode underneath. Counts and quality depend on how much the builder implemented, and in a continuous line the unit of production needs agreeing first - area or panels rather than parts.
Gotchas
- The v2 namespace is distinct from the earlier work. Confirm which one you are talking to.
- Line-level integration matters more than single-machine integration in this sector.
- Implementation coverage varies. Browse before designing.
Once the machine speaks a companion spec, the OEE mapping is portable across vendors, which is the point at which analytics stops being a per-machine project.
