A CNC-focused model, and one where the ecosystem has largely moved on: new machine-tool projects target MachineTool plus Machinery instead, and the CNC capability code exists for servers that claim this. Worth knowing so you recognise it in the field.
Where it sits in the stack
Sits alongside MachineTool in scope. In practice MachineTool has become the model integrators ask for on machine tools.
The types that matter

(type inventory not confirmed) | We have not verified this model's type inventory or its current release state. Browse the released nodeset if you meet a server claiming it. |
Using it on a real machine
- Check the capability codesA server claiming CNC in its ServerCapabilities is telling you something about its intended model. Read that before browsing.
- Prefer MachineTool for new workMachineTool at 1.02.0 plus the Machinery building blocks is the mainstream path for machine tools, and gives you a far richer OEE surface.
What it gives you for OEE
Use MachineTool for OEE on machine tools. It has ProductionStatisticsType, production state machines and condition classes that function as standardised downtime reason codes - none of which you should give up by targeting an older model.
Gotchas
- MachineTool plus Machinery is what new machine-tool projects target. Treat this page as recognition rather than direction.
- The CNC capability code is registered, so servers may claim it.
Once the machine speaks a companion spec, the OEE mapping is portable across vendors, which is the point at which analytics stops being a per-machine project.
