ServerProfileArray

ServerProfileArray is a Property under Server.ServerCapabilities holding the list of Profile and Facet URIs a server claims to implement, such as http://opcfoundation.org/UA-Profile/Server/StandardUA2017. Read it first on any unfamiliar server: one read tells you whether history, methods, aggregates or reverse connect are even supposed to work.

Where it lives and how to read it

Browse from the Server object at i=2253 to ServerCapabilities, then read the ServerProfileArray Variable. It is an array of Strings. In UaExpert, drag it into a data-access view or read it in the attribute pane; in opcua-commander or asyncua, read the node directly. It costs one read and it changes how you plan the rest of the integration.

What to do with the answer

If /Server/HistoricalRawData2022 is absent, stop planning to backfill from the machine and budget for an edge historian. If /Server/Methods is absent, your recipe-download design needs rework. If /Server/ReverseConnect is present, you have a NAT-traversal option that does not need inbound firewall rules. Read this array alongside the server capability codes and you know in under a minute whether you are doing semantic integration or tag scraping.

It is a claim, and claims are often wrong

ServerProfileArray is self-reported. It is edited by hand in most server configurations and drifts from reality in both directions: servers advertise facets they never finished, and mature servers advertise fewer facets than they implement because the maintainers refuse to claim anything the Compliance Test Tool has not been run against. Treat the array as the vendor's intent and verify the behaviour.

Certification consequences

Because the Compliance Test Tool exercises every claimed facet, ServerProfileArray effectively selects the test suite that will run against your product. Over-claiming here is a leading cause of failed certification runs, and it is the cheapest mistake in the whole process to avoid: delete the entries you cannot defend before you book lab time.

The mistake people make: Two mirror-image mistakes. Integrators believe the array and design around a facet the server does not really implement; vendors pad the array and then fail certification on facets they never intended to sell. Verify by exercising the service, and claim only what you have tested.
